But if its anyone's job to always defend the cops, its the union head's job. Being mad at him for touting the pro-cop line is like being mad at Nekima Levy Armstrong for touting the pro-BLM line.
Its one thing for critics of Walz or Frey to call out their maladministration and demand change. And its one thing for critics of Ilhan Omar to demand she resign over her controversies- they're directly in charge.
Attacking the mouthpiece is another thing entirely. These are folks calling for Bob Kroll's head for the same reason they'd call for any and every cop's head. They've chosen to shoot the messenger, and they're teetering on the verge beyond metaphorical as they beat his wife in effigy. I mean c'mon, they're drumming up reasons to pillory Liz Collins just for the mob's sake. I can understand protests that demand reform from those in positions to administrate. I can understand the peaceful and protected petition of your representatives, senators and state government to enact change, that is the heart of democracy. But these folks leapfrogged past attacking the other side for their beliefs and went full on foaming-at-the-mouth riotous mobs attacking random white children because they might grow up to be nazis
Its all indicative of the disease of modern illiberalism, that nobody should be entitled to their own beliefs, nobody should be free to think their own thoughts and express themselves. Its not enough to control the government, they want the government to control the people. There's no amount of reform measures from Arradondo that would sate the mob's appetite, no pandering by Frey or show trials conducted by Ellison that would be enough. Not as long as a contrary argument is freely expressed.
He had problems WAY before he was the union head.
I don't agree with riots either, but this guy clearly is more than just a talking head.. he has had recorded issues since the 90's
