I was groomed for my job now and am currently being groomed now by another agency. What is wrong with this?

All these politicians have been groomed to become who they are.

Dont you think it is ... 'interesting' how an obscure 38 year old mayor of a small town in Indiana was literally showered in donations and positive press coverage as soon as he entered the race?

Obama was already a senator from one of the largest states in the country and had given a keynote speech at the Democratic convention in 2004 which had received a ton of attention. Since his 2004 speech, a lot of people had been saying "this dude will be president one day". That he could actually go in there and defeat Hillary Clinton in the 2008 primary was still a surprise, but Obama was already on a ton of people's radar and considered a hot prospect when he announced his candidacy.

Not particularly. He always had politics in mind and I'm sure he met a lot of important people while being politically active at Harvard. He tried to run as DNC treasurer (I think that's what it was) and made more political connections that way.

He also wasn't showered with donations either...his campaign was REALLY small for MONTHS (he was one of the first to have an exploratory committee) and didn't really get much press (or money) until the first CNN town hall event.

Ultimately, what it boils down to...people simply like him and his message.

Agreed. Buttigieg is the most politically talented of the Democratic field. I don't think his rise and subsequent DNC donor love is suspicious, it makes sense given his talent and the potential underperformance of other moderates (Harris, Biden).

which 'message'? that of 'gradual and slow (but not really) change'? sure, people who bought into the 'we need an establishment candidate to win over the mythical droves of centrist voters, who just LOVE how washington works for them, and thus are just looking for the true champion of the status quo' narrative like him. those who actually want the system to change and represent them, will probably be able to figure him out, realise what he's actually saying (which is not a whole lot, while still trying to pander to both the left and the 'moderates'), and how full of hot air his speeches and replies to questions actually are... at least i would hope so.

Quite literally the people who are between "revolution" and "status quo" i.e. meaningful change. For example, a Medicare buy in (medicare 4 all who want it) would be SUBSTANTIAL progress for MILLIONS of people. If you're unable to see progress via incremental change that typically means you come from a place of privilege.
