This is what's so crazy about the state of the political climate. He actually cares more whether Trump's story was technically incorrect than the fact Trump is talking about violating muslim burials. He can probably regurgitate 10 different defenses of why he feels antifa and white nationalists aren't comparable, but he probably has no clue whatsoever that Trump just revoked Executive Order 13690 or what that means.

haha, he offered you an easy out and you fully went for it...
i guess it's easier to talk about someone than argue against them. typical right wing mentality unfortunately...

a shame, you almost made it through my whole comment. apparently you just missed the last sentence - or what do you think "the suggestion he's making by yet again perpetuating this debunked story" means?

and yes, i already know the hypocrisy doesn't bother you - the moment he made that comment we already knew that "i want to get all the facts first" was just a flimsy excuse, a hilariously ironic comment coming from him of all people, as his whole campaign and presidency are proof of the opposite. it really did not require his pershing comment to prove how serious he was about the truth. i just thought i point it out again because of the direct comparison between terrorism he's (rightfully) eager to condemn and terrorism he just condemns when he's basically forced to.

just wondering about the "false equivalency" part. wasn't it a major part of the trumpapologist's defense that there was no such thing in his 'all sides' and 'many many sides' statements that you defended tooth and nail? why treat my statements differently? at no point did i say the terrorist attacks were equally bad - so just like your cult leader, i made statements you should defend as something i "got right" if you're not a hypocrite. oh right, there's the problem...

Trump could nail Jim Acosta onto a wooden cross and set it on fire at the next press conference and heinrich over there would be declaring Trump's use of Klansmen imagery proves he's a racist.

Lee was so unrepresentative of these United States that Lincoln wanted him general of the union army, and the ideological heros of the Democratic party historically(FDR and JFK) praised him.

I think it's easy to look back 150+ years removed from slavery and see the clear moral choice between the union and confederacy, but in the context of the times I don't think it was that simple. It's sort of interesting that men who lived much closer to the civil war looked at Lee as a great American, but you can't see it.

I'm aware of who he is, specifically he's was well liked because of his efforts after the war.

But the main vibe people are going to sense out of a confederate general being on a public building is that it's a memory of the war.

I mean if democratically these institutions decide to keep these things up, then I guess more power to them. But just seems in the current climate, a lot of people are kind of just not for them.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (the son of a man who was a nazi) gets it absolutely right.

How is this something people are having a difficult time uniting on? No, people who march in unison with nazis at a white supremacist rally are not fine people. Get that through your damn head, these are not "very fine people"

that's the side that was marching in the "anti-protestors" with weapons attacking the people who had the permit to be there. I don't agree with the neo-nazis and white supremacists either. There are reasonable people on both sides of the protest it's just the media is only focusing on the mass hysteria of the radical nazis while ignoring the radical communists.
