United states of America, And United states of Eurasia. That what i would like to see in the next years, really, and the chances it happen are real.

the point however is that the west is aligned with America and that will only be further strengthened by this latest conflict. as i had outlined near the beginning of this topic, i would have much preferred when the EU was trying to make closer ties to the Ukraine, say by way of a Trade deal, they should have given the same deal to russia. i.e. while accepting that Putin is the baddy in this story, nevertheless some stories have baddies becoming goodies and the best way to defeat an enemy is to make them your friend.

Am I to assume this was not directed at void?

Seems to me he is saying exactly what you were in agreement with when I 'misquoted' you.

My entire point was, while COVID certainly accelerated the impact to housing prices, it was not the cause of the increase in and of itself. It accelerated a trend already underway.

Putin and his oligarchy system stopped the integration process for 20 years, with all the recent events lets see how it will end.

Maybe you didn't see it, but that's exactly what lebanon was saying:

That's more than just a tacit approval of the targetting of civilians. By his logic, even an outright genocide or a nuclear first strike against Ukraine would be justified as long as it serves Russia's security interests.

Bruh. I said "more justifiable" not "justifiable" :) I did not make an absolutist statement about anything.
We were comparing it to American wars, "special operations", and interventions... Not comparing it to nothing.
I wrote my perspective, in accordance with my analysis, worldview, and moral compass... That I sympathize more with Russian intervention than the recent American ones.
I do not feel like debating the methods right now, or who is to blame for the civilian casualties. It gets dicey when civilians are mixed with populations (urban resistance)... and when one side is being used as cannon fodder against another.
I have a feeling we will get to debate this point again in time :)

do you then by extension feel that the Zelensky regime is more deserving of removal than say Saddaam or Al Quaeda?

i dont support either of the wars, but im not crying that those rats found their graves.

To get back on topic. See a few sources reporting that Ukraine has taken some towns east of Kiev. Another important thing to watch for is how China is responding. This was published by Reuters this morning.

It's possible that under mounting pressure as well less support in the east, Russia is looking to scale back their asks. Hard to see how everything turns out but IMO, at this point regime change in Ukraine is increasingly unlikely, a full out assault on Kiev increasingly unlikely. I'd think their weighing the costs (both lives and resources) to continue to mount an offensive and maybe are deciding to focus more on the south east.

Agreed.

It seems that Russia scaled back its goals throughout this conflict.

"Take all of Ukraine in a blitzkrieg."
"Take all of Ukraine, even if it requires more time than anticipated."
"Take Kyiv and everything to the east of the Dnieper River."
"Take the entire Ukrainian Black Sea Coast plus the entire Donbass."
"Secure Donbass and a land connection to Crimea." <- we are here
