Ukraine's Zelenskyy appears to confirm loss of 'destroyed' Bakhmut

Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy says there is "little left" of the besieged eastern city of Bakhmut and it is "destroyed".
Asked if it was still in Ukraine control, the president said: "I think no."
He added: "For today, it is only in our hearts.
"You have to understand that there is nothing.
"They destroyed everything."
Russia claimed on Saturday to have fully captured the ruined city, which would mark an end to the longest and bloodiest battle of the 15-month war.
"It is tragedy," Mr Zelenskyy said.
"There is nothing on this place."
The assault was led by troops from the Wagner Group of mercenaries, whose leader Yevgeny Prigozhin said earlier in the day that his troops had finally pushed the Ukrainians out of the last built-up area inside the city.
Kyiv had previously denied the claim

Russians spreading rumours Zaluzhny has been hit and is critical in a hospital. Can’t find confirmations from UA/NATO side.

Awfully quiet in here on a day where Russia shot down multiples of their own aircraft and retreated from Bakhmut. Can hear a pin drop.

This why you and are so mad right now?

First Russian plan was to conquer Ukraine quickly, that failed.
So now Russians were forced to switch to plan B, which is "go slow".
We dont really know how its going. Of course both sides say that they are winning.
Bakhmut isnt important, its just ruins now, what matters is how many Russian and Ukrainian soldiers were killed, how much ammo was wasted.
Russia was allright last year because of high resources prices. Now the prices are lower, and they will have some serious financial problems in the autumn.

You've never been honest about anything you posted here.

If the Russians had been pushed out you'd be selling it as a huge victory and a very important battle.

Me dishonest? Lol

How do you know what will I post here if X happens?
Did I post such things when some towns were liberated by Ukrainians? No I didnt, and Ukraine liberated quite a lot last year.

Bakhmut is not important because there are some mountains and Ukrainian defensive positions just outside the town. Mountains are good for defense. So the frontline won't really move.

Russians used mainly mercenaries and prisoners to flood Bakhmut, suffering very heavy casualties. They can't really do such thing with regular army or conscripts, since the families will miss these people and create unrest in Russia.
So in my opinion they cannot repeat such assault again on another town.

Yes you're dishonest. Or maybe just so deeply entrenched in your pro-NATO position that you don't even know that you're coming across as completely dishonest.

I know what you would post because you always post negative about the Russians and always post positive about the Ukrainians ;)

About the Wagner mercenaries, I've pointed that out from the beginning. Meatgrinder has 100% worked in Russia's favor, Russia lost mercenaries and prisoners that were recruited to fight for Wagner and Ukraine lost a whole bunch of their best troops.

If you take one town every half year, how many years do you need to win the war?
And if you used half of your resources on that and will need 5 years to rebuild ammo stocks and army?
Still winning?
The war is more complicated than you think.
Whoever uses their resources more smartly, whoever kills/gets more while loosing less, is the winner of the war.
Last year Russia was going forward slowly for very long, exhausted their soldiers, took a couple towns, then the Ukraine counter-attacked and liberated a lot of land.
So by the end of year Ukraine was the winner.
Now we have new year, that started with Russia attacks. Now Russia exhausted themselves and we gonna see what happens next, obviously I hope for repeat of last year and Ukraine liberating some of their land, but I dont know if that's gonna happen, Russia is preparing to defend and its possible they learned from their last year mistakes.
