Amongst all you people supporting Putin, I've yet to encounter a single one of you who possesses any character.

Okay Gandalf :)

And? I'm not arguing that point either way.

You were pushing back against the notion that the government handling of the pandemic has very significantly contributed to rising housing prices. If you agree that money printing by central banks fuels housing prices, this is a contradiction once we keep in mind that one third of all dollars in existence were created over the past 2.5 years. (Or something along those lines, too lazy to look it up rn.)

Gandalf did not possess any character. There was some speculation that a Valar had possessed Gandalf after his fight against the balrog but I would more conform to using Saruman when saying OK, as is more in like with the narrative re: possession (Gandalf is a goody after all, from the West).

Yes this is a gaming forum so off topic and references to Lord of the Rings (and cats) is always accepted.

use this: Shift 6 (up arrow) followed by name. thus we get:

in the event that there is spacing in the name you need to do Up arrow then "Lebanon961" here is an example:

So why are you spreading notions that are "a bunch of crap"?
Are you doing propaganda deliberately, or perhaps simply out of habit? :)

I did not spread this notion. I gave a list of differences between Afghanistan/Iraq/Syria/etc. and Ukraine and a list of justifications for the Western intervention in these places. "Spreading democracy" was notably absent from my list! Also note that I specifically stressed that a lot of these Western internventions were wrong.

But go ahead, keep harping on about how targetting residential areas with artillery is credible self-defense.

If I may, and give me some rope to hang myself here ok, I would argue that what is being suggested here is not that targetting residential areas is a credible self-defense but rather that the war is not being won by Putin and therefore it is getting nasty is his attempts to make Ukraine capitulate. The overall aim of Putin is (from his vantage point ok) to "defend" present and future Russia from (perceived or true) Western Aggression.

It's more the loss of people in a country with a declining population and where the young are generally disinterested in fighting the war

Of course! A lack of motivated troops and logistical issues are Russia's main problems right now. But Russia's demography is not affected by Western sanctions either way. This is not a point against my argument that an oil and gas embargo against Russia will not - at least in the forseeable future - affect or even stop Russia's ability to continue this war.

So... because Russia's military is unable to accomplish its goals, they are justified in waging a terror campaign against Ukraine's civilians to break their will?
That's like arguing that a rape victim deserves to be beaten to a pulp if it has the audacity to resist.

Look, I get where Russia/Putin are coming from, why they do what they're doing - I just vehemently disagree with the notion that their actions are justified.
