Western media keeps highlighting these things but completely ignores the fundamental ideological question which I and many have brought up-- and of course they don't do so because they're just another tentacle of the neo-con apparatus. We don't have a leg to stand to try to criticize, guilt and even sanction other countries from behaving how they see fit. We unilaterally have bombed and destroyed countries, we unilaterally have funded, armed & deposed various types of groups, with no UN resolutions or input from the international world. When our own nations operate like that, it's best for MSM in our countries to stfu in trying to criticize others. Maybe if they cared when Libya or Yemen was being razed to the ground with British supplied cluster munitions they'd have room to talk.
I dont disagree with you, it is double standards and it boggles the mind how its OK to give one side weapons, but not ok to give the other side weapons. A contrarian might say "yes but we are the goodies" but the counter argument to that is "no we are the goodies". Ultimately there are no goodies and therefore sending any weapons to either side is wrong. While two wrongs dont make a right, in this geopolitical conflict the narrative in the west is "you are with us or you are against us, you are our complete ally, and will do what we say, or you will be our enemy". smaller countries cant afford to do this, while larger countries have more latitude. I think South America is probably big enough that the US MIGHT think twice before excommunicating them, metaphorically.
