my thoughts is im glad i left russia back in 2001 now i dont have to get drafted to go to this fuckin war but at the same time fuck nato for supporting ukraine because i woulda got killed had it be me getting drafted there

Is it because Russia has a totalitarian dictatorship that is ostensibly threatened by an emerging democracy in Ukraine; Who's people are so similar to Russians, would demonstrate to Russians that even lowly Ukrainians can have a functioning democracy?

Is there really a tangible threat to Russians from NATO? Or is democratic expansion a threat to Russia's authoritarian regime? If there are tangible threats to Russians, what are they?

Is it enough to justify Russia's invasion with 2 words? "NATO expansion"
