Currently:
10% Ukrainian area and people captured by Russians.
Towns near the frontlines are ruined.
Life goes pretty normal for remaining 90% people.
Official candidate state for EU.

Now if Ukraine gives up:
Ukrainian elites (teachers, politicians, patriotic people etc) murdered or sent deep into Russia for certain death.
The rest is forced to work as slaves for their oppresors at Kremlin.
No more normal western life for them.
People forced to work 80-100 hours per week, for little salary that only gives them food and often even not enough food.
People transfered deep into cold Russia territory, where they work and most of them die, only the strongest and most healthy survives.
Ukrainians get forcefully drafted into Russia army and sent on frontline to attack and enslave more nations IE kazachstan. Very low survival rates in the first lines of attacking forces. Certain death I would say.
The latter is a really grim perspective for Ukraine.
