The Bible says that ONLY those who accept Jesus Christ, believing in their heart that He died and rose from the dead and place their faith in Him will be saved. If you could be good enough to go to heaven on your own, Christ died in vain.

Thats a nice way to just say "I am my own god so I dont care about if god approves or not".

That is what everybody who has ever lived has done.

Psalm 53: 2-3

any who seek God.
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.

Is it any wonder when you make up your own mind you will choose to do evil 100% of the time? You do it as well as me.

I didn't know volunteering to help the homeless and adopting stray cats is evil.

Still, two wrongs dont make a right, and god definitely doesn't like your guild.

Did you know that you can be doing a good thing for the wrong reasons?

My reason is compassion, is that the wrong reason?

If that's the wrong reason then your god is morally bankrupt.

Be careful when announcing your righteousness, to be seen in front of others. I can see that you are trying to paint a picture of how righteous you are compared to me. Truly I tell you, you have received your reward in full.

You may also be justifying yourself by telling us what your good works are. Do you think that helping the homeless and adopting stray cats will net you your eternal reward? Not only that but also announcing it to me, along with everyone else?

Matthew 6:1-4

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Nope, has nothing to do with justifying myself, but with refuting the dumb claim that everything we do is evil.

I know that it is not easy for you to accept. Most people do not like to be told the cold hard truth, that they are a sinner and that they are going to Hell.

I mean telling you that your whole life is a lie and will lead you to destruction in the end is not exactly something you like to hear. Yet it is something that you need to hear.

Yet that is what happened to me. I was willing to accept that where I was headed was leading me toward destruction and that I had to change direction.

Even when you try to do good, you will end up doing evil. It is inevitable.
