The notion that Russia would try to take all of Europe is laughable, but surely not for a lack of ambition on the side of Putin and his inner circle. If there was any chance of pulling it off, I have no doubt that they'd try. Russia uses to occupy Eastern Europe in XIX century, the excuse is ready to use, that they barely bring XIX century back.
Then the next wave comes Germany, which Russian propaganda says are nazi again. Of course this is bullshit, but this could be nice excuse for people like ferdia who like to run away from the problems and get few more safe years.
Also Russia is weak economically, but this is not luxury cars or clothes that fights the war. Its the human beings.
Given that Russians live a poor life now, they are more adapted to harsh war conditions than a typical relatively rich European.
Also lets not forget that its possible Russians get more assistance from the China in the future.
So although Im rather an optimist, we Europeans need to prepare for the less optimistic possible scenarios.
