He could just run on his history of fiscal conservatism a consumer advocacy. I might be the perfect foil to somebody who stiffs his contractors

Bernie has such a long track record of promoting ideas which are out of step with American mainstream that he would really struggle to define the terms on which the campaign is fought.

Do you really think voters will care about Trump stiffing some contractors decades ago while Bernie runs on taking away everyone's current healthcare plan (to replace it with something that might or might not be better), open borders, rent control, harvesting death row for Democratic votes and putting millions of Americans from the fracking, coal and oil industries out of work with the Green Leap Forward?

Two things that are more corrections rather than disagreements with your general direction. Bernie per his 1st debate answer is still calling for "strong border security" and hasnt been one of the "dont prosecute illegals" candidates that i remember. makes sense being that his staple issue is healthcare, which only get harder to pay for as illegals stream in. and secondly like 50k people TOTAL work in coal. i only correct that because it's idiotic that coal is a talking point while being such a small sector. coal country is big, job losses in coal are big, but no amount of protectionism for the coal industry will bring enough jobs back to save those areas. they're fucked, proper. unless someone makes a sector move there through tax incentives, and i dont think that will happen because the general infrastructure in those areas is also bad. but thats possible.

By the end of 2016, the coal industry employed approximately 50,000 miners. US employment in coal mining peaked in 1923, when there were 863,000 coal miners. Since then, mechanization has greatly improved productivity in coal mining, so that employment has declined at the same time coal production increased

Not being obsessed by the open borders Chupacabra but one should accept that TODAY he has a clear support from the younger generation by a VERY LARGE margin.

Bernie calls for abolishing ICE and CBP. Paying lip service to "strong border security" doesnt change that.

Coal might not be a big industry anymore, but oil and/or fracking still is. Bernie calls for an immediate ban on fracking, and the Green New Deal he's supporting calls for a very very quick end to all fossils, which would imply millions of jobs lost in the oil industry and the manufacturing of fossil cars. Good luck with such a platform.

The candidate who's promoting the biggest, wildest (pipe)dreams is leading among young voters? Call me shocked. :D

that's called confirmation bias. you have two hyperbolic lip service statements but you're leaning how you want. "abolish ice" is just as much of a buzzphrase as "strong border security". but when u look at M4A it seems clear he cant abolish ice and pay for it. so id guess he's leaning that way.

as to banning fracking good, fuck fracking. those people have already been out of work for a few years since OPEC prices priced the frackers out of the market. and good, because again, fuck fracking. it shouldnt be legal in any first world country.

Lol, do you seriously think this is "clear" to Bernie and/or his supporters? I dont think so.

Anyway, even if he walks back the calls to abolish ICE and CBP, he still has plenty of other very liberal immigration policies in his platform, like full amnesty and such. Trump would have a field day with this part of Bernie's agenda, even in the absense of an outright 'abolish ICE'.

Oh, I totally agree, fuck fracking. Should still be obvious that those voters working in the fracking or oil industries wont go with the candidate promising to kill their job.

I don't think all of even most Americans share your biased and subjective and ultimately intractable view.

If you work for a living you have nothing to fear from this man. I think a lot of American voters actually care about who a person is and what they've done, not the Fox News hype.

Then again about 47% of adults who vote voted for a reality television star who makes fun of disabled people and used sexual aggression to let women know he is interested in sexual congress lol.
