Long video but one of the best discussions about Ukraine and US foreign policy I've listened to.
It is a discussion with Michael Hudson and Radhika Desai, where they detail some of the economic consequences and motivations for the current conflict.

I think you guys would probably find this talk interesting, it is very long though so I don't expect anyone will have the time to watch it but figured I'd tag you guys incase you have some time to kill
Edit- can't post as a video for some reason, anyone know why?
It’s a 2 hour video my man. Have mercy. Can you please give a TLDW with his main points?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/04/23/bakhmut-destroyed-city-ukraine-war/Bakhmut looks like its reaching that tipping point. There's still some fighting back and forth at the few blocks in the western fringe of the city, but Russia clearly still has overwhelming artillery / airstrikes they're using to simply flatten the entire area held by the Ukrainians, and Russia has taken over the railways. More shaheds, more missiles, etc.
Interesting to see they are using Discord for drone management (discord and windows are both in Russian heh). It seems people in the field are able to connect to discord channels to check drone feeds.

This turned from conventional to modern warfare of attrition with nobody making any quick progress as everybody fortified heavily and everything is riddled with antipersonnel and antitank mines with drones / artillery doing most of the heavylifting.
