This has all the hallmarks of propaganda and PR tricks and its acting like its any different from the other outlets in the US. Ridiculous. Dont get me wrong, i find the liberal/left-wing channels to be at least equally bad. US media is, sadly, politicized and polarized garbo. Its like Russian media but you just have two variants to cater to two different sets of demographics.
This.
Tucker Carlson is gaining traction and playing his hand extremely well right now as what he says is suddenly in demand. I don’t think he is a bad journalist / media content creator per se. Maybe he is light on journalistic ethics. He is actually scary good at delivery of drama content to get clicks / views for his employer.
Having said all that I just saw his Elon Musk interview and he did exactly what a journalist should do - let the person talk. Unlike that BBC guy who came to throw feces, but got in over his head.
Russian media these days is terrible. You are either Z-patriot who bashes NATO all day and blames everyone, but themselves (self-awareness can land you in jail on treason charges, war time yeeehaww!) or a
“liberal-in-exile”-type funded by the likes of Khodorkovsky creating scary stories how rotten everything is without any factual understanding of how stuff works in real life.
On a side note:
I saw this interview with Mr Venediktov (ex-chief of Echo Moscow - major Russian radio) with Owen Matthews - a journalist whom I highly respect. It’s in Russian but has decent English subtitles.
Owen just released a new book about Ukraine/Russia conflict which I preordered and keen to read as I feel he is one of the few guys who can keep his biases in check.

‘s thoughts on the interview.
