If I were a Trump supporter, the most frustrating part of all this for me would be that most of this scandal is self-inflicted. If Trump played his hand better by firing Comey at the start of his presidency and not citing Flynn as part of his rationale, there might not even be a Special Counsel.

Ultimately, this is all politics. Trump was adept at navigating his way into the Presidency, but it's been political misstep after misstep ever since he took office. Certainly he would always have his enemies and detractors, but a lot of the political trouble he is in right now is of his own doing.

Trump fired comey because of the "Russia Thing" (as he said to Lester Holt)...

And if Jeff Sessions didn't lie to Congress (or choosing to not "recall" several meetings with Russians or w/e, which is as bad as lying IMO) there probably wouldn't be a special counsel...

So to that i say, thank you Jefferson Beauregard Sessions for being disingenuous to Congress!

Wrong.

Trump fired Comey as a result of the mishandling of Clinton’s email investigation. Comey fucked that up. This sentiment was expressed almost unanimously on both sides of the isle, & was later reiterated by deputy AG Rosenstein in his letter in which he recommended that...Comey be fired.
