Well the problem I have is independent reporting nowadays.

Majority of outlets are choosing sides eg RT/Sputnik/TASS obviously explain how Russia is winning. NYTimes/WSJ/UK outlets seems to be continuously explaining how Russians are on the brink of losing.

If you read AlJazeera they are anti-US, but anti-war as well. SouthChina Post seems to promote Chinese point of view (as expected).

Belligncat seems quite good overall although I personally do not like Navalny whom they clearly support.

I quite like Dutch journalists covering this - they are often raising difficult questions to explain the conflict better.

I stop reading their reports on the news but if I do, I will try my best to use my common sense.
Rather than reading reports from MSM.

Watch Youtube videos
on these guys.

john mearsheimer
Graham Allison
francis fukuyama
Kevin Rudd

And look at what they say and try to come up with your own viewpoints .
This will be a better option.

I am not sure if you understand mandarin.
If you do , there are at least 4 to 5 Taiwanese ex politicians and Political professors who does daily shows on TVBs and CTI Taiwan that offers their view points.

I have a job, family with kids and a gym addiction. Don’t have time to watch many videos lol.

Podcasts would be better.

I know these two although I don’t read them regularly. Shariy is an Ukranian opposition in exile, pro-Russian views it seems, but less Z than Russian sources.

Rybar seems to stick to facts and has an English translation- so he is useful for maps, but his problem is that he is physically in Russia - means he is criminally liable for “army discredit” or whatever that new law is.

Usually I try to understand what the bias of the source is, listen to the argument and think about what they are omitting to support their argument - and somewhere inbetween lies the truth I guess. But it’s a part of my professional deformation I guess as I’m trained to look for what people are not saying rather than what is being said.

I usually turn on Youtube and hear them talk and don't watch it.
Because they do Q&A sometimes during lectures so it is really worth it. 90% of the time they are just talking , so it is pretty much a podcast to me.

An overdose of information apparently. I can still listen to three sources and watch the fourth, but it starts to get annoying after a year.

wonder how Russia will react to :

The presence of Western special forces in Ukraine has been the subject of quiet speculation for more than a year. But it's never been confirmed, until now. The US Department of Defense is still dealing with the consequences of one of the largest leaks of classified material in recent years, most of it relating to the war in Ukraine. The documents, some marked "top secret", paint a detailed picture of the war, including highly sensitive details of Ukraine's preparations for a spring counter-offensive against Russian forces. One document has piqued widespread interest. It says that the UK is among a number of countries with special forces operating in Ukraine. According to the document, dated 23 March, the UK has the largest contingent (50), followed by Latvia (17), France (15), the US (14) and the Netherlands (1). The document does not say where the forces are located or what they're doing.

The special forces are probably trying to get Wechat contact from the Ukraine girls.

You're a warmonger, your sig says it all

Lol. If the argument in my signature is what you mean by "warmonger", you're kind of making my argument for me. If the rules based world order, which punishes actors like Russia for invading sovereign countries, is offensive to you, that's an indictment of your world view, not mine.

You still have a base in Syria.
