No, last year we had posted the historical records (from 5-10 years ago), which were freely available online, which outlined that the US knew that Ukraine was Russia's red line and that Russia would not countenance Ukraine in Nato. We also provided video's early on in the topic relating to the warnings sent to Washington by the US Ambassador to Ukraine ("Ukraine is Russia's brightest red line") - The John Meirscheimer one from 2016 stands out of course.

I am pretty sure those cables from the US ambassador to Ukraine were not classified noting they have been commented on for the last 8 years. We also posted various freely available documents from the US state department which outlined the amount of money shipped to Ukraine over the last 11 years and various other documents of a similar, historic, nature. I have been away for a week so i did not have the opportunity to read much of what was linked in the topic. I did however see that someone linked a story which outlined that the CIA has been bluntly attempting to delete records of their long relationship with Ukraine, which conflicted with the narrative of a "unprovoked" attack on Ukraine (which is the main stream narrative in western society).

regardless of whether the leak is fake or not, the general consensus (in main stream media) is that it is embarrassing. so TLDR: no big deal.

This is my opinion on the leaks as well. It seems like the entirety of western MSM is reporting on these leaks now, and considering how bad the documents make things look for Ukraine, I have a hard time believing they are real.

Some interesting analysis of the documents on twitter, from what I've read we should see how accurate the documents are around the middle of May.

If they do turn out to be accurate, I would assume this is the US intentionally leaking information in order to set the groundwork to pull out of Ukraine or push for peace talks.

Considering the increasing tensions with China I do consider it possible that the US might be reconsidering its strategic interests.

To lull vigilance and launch a counteroffensive much earlier than planned.

Is there still anyone pretending that the US isn't rapidly losing its geopolitical hegemony right now, like an empire in freefall?
I don't mean this as an inevitability that can't be reversed, nor can it all be ascribed to Biden policies alone, but we're certainly seeing our allies distance themselves and the unaligned world align against us, and our stranglehold over global markets is the most obvious casualty.

Besides the overarching pressures of US financial bubbles and China's ascendency, there's some clear cause and effect with Biden weaponizing the dollar against Russia and the dollar losing its status as the world's reserve currency. Can't expect everyone to trust in the dollar as their neutral world currency if we've shown we'll pull the rug out from under them as soon as we stop liking them. We saw a presage of that from Trudeau when he went after the freedom convoy. If you tell the oligarchs and kleptocrats of the world their dollars aren't safe, they'll divest their dollars, it isn't rocket science.
