You have it backwards.
We're leaving because they are coming. They've been saying they were coming for years now just most people in the west didn't care to listen.
and Kim is just a few short weeks from annihilating the USA's west coast...
the US army runs in fear of the Turks. give me a fucking break. they wouldn't cut the short and curlys off a single marine. as if we can't start doing bombing runs of them (just like we're doing and have done to countries for decades) without even a single invasion. the aircraft carriers are there and ready to go staged in the Gulf. the second they make an aggressive move we bomb all of their domestic bases.
this whole narrative is one of the more idiotic ideas i've come across in PARD in years. i simply wont entertain it. conversation over. it's that stupid. i'll spend my lunch trolling the d2 trade forums instead.

They could have invaded parts of their corridor along the border where there are no US troops. Which is most of them. And again, there was not a whole brigade of US troops stationed in the region, just a few dozen.
What would the US do if islamistic mercenaries attacked these few dozens of US troops, perhaps blew some of them up with suicide attacks? Declare a war on fucking Turkey on the unprovable suspicion that these attackers were working on behalf of the Turks? Kick Turkey out of the NATO and find yourself with your back against the wall when Russia, Iran and Turkey join forces in the region?
You guys are delusional if you think that the US government would value the lives of a few dozen soldiers higher than the costs of such a development unless there is clear and irrefutable evidence for Turkish responsibility.
The truth is that with very weak US presence in the region and a Turkish government hell-bent on its invasion and willing to take some risks, the situation was unsustainable. The options for the intermediate future were to either deploy more troops to northeastern syria, or to withdraw, or to put the lives of the soldiers who were already there at great risk.

Implanting US troops in whatever region you desire doesn't automatically mean that all of the sudden we are entitled to dictate how parties there behave.
I just love how a bunch of self centered Americans think they can tell parties with an actual stake to take a back seat in deciding their borders, geopolitics, etc. No wonder why so many hate us around the world.
