This topic is also me trying to state It's just a personal opinion not something that should be implemented or some sort of change in the way countries deal with it.
Too much emotional damage in here for stuff like that I guess. lol

I think all of us, no matter what stance we take on this war whether from a moral point of view or Realpolitik point of view is just unusually affected by it .

Something just struck me today when I m casually reading news. I just want your opinion on the similarity or at least some comments on it.

While the War is raging on in Ukraine with the Russian invasion. I just read that a US contractor is being killed in a drone strike in North Syria and some US personnel is being injured.

Here is the key question. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is illegal from a worldview since it is a sovereign country.
Now there can be arguments on these below by Russia.

1. Nato expanding Eastward
2. They are protecting the Russian speaking and pro Russian region in the East, Donbass, Crimea etc etc.
3. It was a civil war in a way because the Pro Western West Ukraine have been doing some nasty things to the Pro Russian East ( Azov etc etc )
4. Lets not Kid ourselves , before this Ukraine Invasion , The Western media and MSM have been reporting day in and out in regards to the Azov regime and the nasty things they did and labeled them Nazi to a point where Congress is going to label them a terrorist Unit.

So Nato and the West is doing their best and giving them support in anyway they can sanctions , weapons , trainings etc etc to fend back the invaders. And it is absolutely fair to say that such an action from Russia is illegal ....well Ukraine is a sovereign state.

Then I read the story of the drone strike that killed an American contractor today and something struck me.

So I am wondering.........Syria is also going through a civil war. And this war is still ongoing etc etc .....
I just realized that America have a base in Syria and some of their troops are guarding the oil fields and they are supporting , providing hardware and software to the West friendly Anti Syrian government troops.
But it seems that nobody really talk about it for the longest time.

It makes me ponder................I mean isn't Syria a sovereign country too? Why did Nato / America set up a military base there ? Supporting the Anti Syrian government is ok because the key is to topple Bashar al-Assad and change his government ?

So US conducting an airstrike in Syria after " Iranian " drones struck a US base ? and Killed a US contractor because the Drone strike a US outpost build in a Sovereign state that is " illegally " occupied by " Freedom Forces " supported by the West ? While that particular area still officially belongs to the Sovereign state which is the current Syrian government.

I already alluded to this previosly, provided a video and made commentary. it was not picked up for discussion. The US has interests in Syria, therefore they are in Syria. its as simple as that. There is no justification or right for the US to be there, but they are the US, so whatever they are doing there is largely ignored. There is alot you can read about the issue if you want but ultimately no one cares.

I have basically the same view as this, there is no justification for it apart from pursuing US interests in the region, and no one will care because CNN or FOX (or any MSM) won't be showing the American people 24/7 coverage of how it is affecting the syrian people, or if they do, it will be in order to promote further US involvement.
