having come from the CJ college system i can say it's a weird split between people "open to being cops" and "im gonna be a cop 100%, known for years, nothing will stop me". and even in the latter category there are the nice dudes who just want to serve and protect, and there's a LOT of guys who just want that power, prestige, respect, etc. lots, like im talking in a college class of 50 kids it's 20 or so power hungry ass holes.

now of course not all of that 20 find jobs, some get screened out based on their personality questions. some find jobs where they cant impose power anyways like a desk job, inventory, or parking meter maid. but plenty still sneak through, these power hungry ass holes are WAY less than sjw liberals suggest, but also WAY more than many right wingers want to admit.

for a non power hungry dude in the current climate, get out, phase out, or leave the inner city. it sucks but its that simple. your days of helping serve the inner city are no longer welcome. let all inner cities hire 100% minority police, let it still be not only a hell hole but actually worse. no one knows what they got til it's gone. its all a good cop can do these days really.

Maybe also consider your role as an outsider and external force occupying and controlling foreign citizens in their community, if they wish to be objective.

The first time meeting the blacks shouldn't be in a police uniform, if you know what i mean.




When people suggest social workers address crime i think "have you even see what we look like?". Most of us are women, and half the dudes are effeminate or metrosexual lol.

Let us work with the people we know are fucking up. We will at least be able to tell you if they're antisocial within 120 seconds of meeting them.

Getting rid of cops is completely batshit insane IMO. We need to compensate them more and provide training.

black cops born and raised in these neighborhoods come back as outsiders once they get a badge. ur childhood best friend becomes an untrustworthy enemy. obviously programs to force socialization between the groups wont hurt, and does help some, but the stigma gap is immense.

Cities are pretty big. As far as I know they don't require specific residence in the area you will be assigned. Ferguson police mostly don't live in Ferguson, just the metro area for instance
