there's too much news on trump these days.
Omarosa, Manafort, security clearances... Each one generating several subjects.
The last claims from Omarosa about Melania Trump are very disturbing.

The NYT article implies McGahn has cooperated with the Special Counsel beyond Trump's legal team's original plan and intent. It suggests McGahn divulged more than the original "open playbook" Dowd and Cobb outlined at the onset of the Special Counsel.

It paints a picture of a complicated relationship between McGahn and Trump. One where McGahn has both helped champion successful conservative policy and one where Trump has been furious at McGahn, blaming him for various administrative failures.

It describes McGahn fearing that he was being set up to be the potential target of an obstruction case the Special Counsel. One where McGahn was made out to be the one one puling the strings and calling the shots as it pertained to the Flynn situation. In response, McGahn and his legal representation devised a plan to cooperate with Mueller in methods beyond Dowd and Cobb's original intent in order to protect himself.

Whether McGahn truly went rogue or not is uncertain, but that's the difference between this story and the one that came out this past January.

Or in other words, its the exact same facts we've known for a year, but added commentary based on pure speculation and anonymous sources making impossible to verify/debunk claims of intent and motive.
They can make claims as to McGahn's state of mind without any basis or accountability, without being told any such thing by McGahn himself, and its irrelevant if he denies it.
