Countries can ask to join NATO and get accepted. NATO isn't "moving" toward "borders" by itself.

NATO membership: benefits of joining a military alliance that has nuclear capabilities and the opportunity to import and use NATO weapons / tanks / join NATO training and so on.

Why do I need to explain this to you?

Probably for the same reason, you don't understand geo-politics and you don't understand that another power (read: opponent) will have issues with a military alliance encroaching on them.
