I wonder if China will float the idea of forming a military alliance with Russia in exchange for pulling out of Ukraine entirely.

does anyone have a graph on US military spending in the last 10 years? /nvm found it.

I wonder if they will ratchet it up this year/next year.

There's a lack of transparency on chinese military expenditures: data should be taken with a grain of salt.
Along with all others data their "share" with us.

Why would China need a military alliance with Russia, or vice versa?

All Russia needs, which is already happening, is access to the Chinese market so that sanctions become largely irrelevant.

All China needs is some Russian commodities, which they are already getting, and Russian help developing their AD and submarine capabilities, which is probably happening.

1994 video Nixon

I think I already gave you the reason (i.e. an end to the war), but if you want a response from me I will respond.

Xi / CCP could help Putin fugitive / war criminal's economy up to a point it can easily be considered to take a side (Russia's side) in the invasion by doing "reversal sanctions" effect.

As you know I provide video's, which are not all aligned to one side. The key comment from Nixon here is that the US had a great stake in making Russia work. Unfortunately after 1994 time and events (when Putin reached out to the West and was rebuffed) show a wasted oppertunity.

It's just not that important to China. I'm sure they'd like to have some plaudits for being the adult who oversees the peace deal, but that's also balanced against this being something of a mess for the West, as they keep trying to turn towards doing the same thing to China itself. Better to fight the yankees in Ukraine than in the Pacific.

And Russia doesn't get anything out of the deal. As said, it doesn't need a military alliance with China. Further, a peace deal now leaves all the fundamental issues unresolved, since it's clear that negotiations with an undefeated West simply cannot be trusted - they've all come out over the last year and said Minsk 1+2 was bad faith delay tactics.

Only 13% of the world's population has sanctioned Russia. You people matter less and less every day.

BTW, it's funny watching France get kicked out of the Sahel, enjoy actually paying for uranium you goons.
