quality post thanks for your input

xD

btw that link has pretty optimistic numbers on how they are going to raise money to fund the project. From the tone of your post I dare not question further though, you seem too bigoted for any intellectual discourse

don't take it so personally, it's just a general observation. i don't even know your politics, and this applies not only to trump cultists, but also the few 'moderate' republicans, and the majority of establishment democrats. cnn and msnbc are equally biased as fox news on this, and as a result so are their viewers.

i just don't get why people would pretend to be interested in open "intellectual discourse", when they quite obviously haven't even done some basic research to check if their initial premise is even remotely correct, and just uncritically regurgitate those lazy talking points, literally indistinguishable from the majority of talking heads on TV.

from the tone of your post i don't expect a meaningful reply, you seem too "bigoted" (?!) to actually challenge your own views.

I disagree, doctors wages are still excellent here.

assuming you're from australia

https://www.healthstaffrecruitment.com.au/news/doctor-salaries-in-australia-what-should-i-expect/

"The average yearly physician or doctor salary (working in a general practice) is a little over $101,000"

1 Australian Dollar equals
0.67 United States Dollar

k seems cool

I really like what you were going for there, but too forced imo. Really glad you turned yet another opportunity for meaningful discussion into a dance off.

e; also: bigoted adjective

big·ot·ed | \ ˈbi-gə-təd \
Definition of bigoted
: blindly devoted to some creed, opinion, or practice

Not even remotely true though.
Australian gp's work 35-40 hour weeks, americans often work up to and over 60.
Australian dollar fluctuates depending on who is in power, right now its conservatives so our economy is trash, when we had progressives in power it was 1.13 usd = 1 aud.
And average wage is not a great indicator of actual wages.

so... it is true, you're just making up a bunch of excuses on why ~$67k/year is misleading?

why is average wage not a great indicator of actual wages? what else would you use for the purposes of this debate? im actually curious

nop, that one's on you, bud - as i explained in my previous two posts, which apparently went straight over your head. so you might as well drop the 'genuinely curious and totally open to meaningful discussion' act, as you're clearly just another msm zombie.

he should have just said "i will give everyone healthcare, and mexico will pay for it", and people would be cheering, rather than regurgitating lazy talking points by pundits on tv stations that - on a totally unrelated note (*wink wink, nudge nudge) - make huge profits from big pharma and the insurance industry.
but hey, it's highly problematic, even "dangerous" that bernie doesn't have the exact numbers (that predictably would be used to unfairly misrepresent his efforts if they turned out to be not 100% correct predictions, even if made to the best of his knowledge) for something as complex and extensive as ovehauling the whole healthcare system. all he has is that every serious estimate and even studies by conservative think tanks all predict it will be CHEAPER than continuing the current system.

seriously, the whole 'he doesn't know how to pay for it' narrative completely falls apart if you actually listened to him talk in detail about his proposals, or just read up on what is easily accessible information: https://www.sanders.senate.gov/download/options-to-finance-medicare-for-all?inline=file

it's really tiresome that so many people, who quite obviously only get their information from right wing and establishment main stream media, don't have the intellectual curiosity to question those claims, just uncritically accept them as true, and then bother other people with their ignorance online...

just casually pointing out 3 posts in a row where you minimally contribute to the questions posed and accuse me of generalizations. its ok, you can quote me and have the last laugh if you'd like, i feel like i've lost enough brain cells

well, you did not manage to 'meaningfully' reply to that, you just bitched about my 'tone' and ironically accused ME of not contributing. just because you don't LIKE my point, and the source i provided to disprove your lazy talking points, doesn't mean it's not a contribution.

wholeheartedly agree with the last part though, and it sure as hell shows...

The thing that amazes me is how many non-American supporters Bernie has.

American voters will NOT take that as a good sign.

If you think that australian doctors working on average up to 25 hours a week less is "an excuse why they get paid less" what debate can we have? you are clearly out of your depth here.
Comparing currencies is dumb because it fluctuates week to week, in 2013 australian doctors were making more than american doctors just due to our strong dollar.
Average wage is comparing doctors fresh out of university doing residencies or in house at gp offices as glorified interns working 35 hour weeks.
If you look at experienced doctors salaries it is much more competitive.
Also keep in mind australia has a superannuation system which balances things out a lot more, in retirement they are likely better off than the americans.

The mean salary of a doctor in the United States is $313,000/year according to a Medscape Report, up from $299,000/year in 2018 (+4.6%). However, doctor salaries vary based on location and specialty.

Ain't no exchange rate in the world gonna make up for that.
