No... I'm asking why didn't he work on backing up his accusations at the time more.

As far as his credibility on the world stage in 2011... I don't really know, I was getting stoned in college at the time. Europeans often have an idea that America is too aggressive on the world stage... so Putin making a claim and backing it up that America meddled seriously in his election might help him a bit. Plus, I believe it would've helped him domestically.

ahhhh, i understand now. thats a question i cant answer, only know that Putin has never had really any credibility. and tensions with him have been high all the way back to Bush2 iirc.

I've heard Navalny's name from those protests. If he really was on the NED payroll, that makes the connection to the US pretty direct.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexei_Navalny
https://journal-neo.org/2015/08/03/national-endowment-for-democracy-is-now-officially-undesirable-in-russia/
>Among NED projects in Russia has been to finance Russian anti-Putin opposition activist Alexei Navalny, member of a group called Russian Opposition Coordination Council. Navalny received money from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
https://www.thenation.com/article/despite-his-politicized-trial-aleksei-navalny-still-divisive-figure-russia/
>A number of incidents from Navalny’s past, eagerly disseminated by pro-Kremlin media, have likely also influenced the negative perception of the anti-corruption activist. These include e-mail correspondence allegedly showing that a political analyst paid Navalny $50,000 for a smear campaign against the aluminum company Rusal, as well as Navalny’s participation in the six-month Yale World Fellows Program and acceptance of a grant from the National Endowment for Democracy.

I'm no expert on all this, the russian opposition is all pretty complex and involves a bunch of people with names I can't keep track of, but I think its reasonable to say that the US had its tentacles wrapped up in the 2011 russian protests, whatever degree between supporting, agitating and full blown astroturfing.

Trump lawyers reject interview terms sought by special counsel in Russia probe
.... Weird, wasn't Trump. claiming he wanted to be interviewed, some days or weeks ago? I'm nearly sure of this.

He has done that a few times now, either he or someone on his team will float the idea that he wants a sit down and they'll walk it back the next day.

A smart lawyer wouldn't let someone who is incapable of telling the truth to sit down for an interview unless forced into it. So don't expect one until that time comes.
I mean just the other day a host on fox made the comment "How in the world could he ever cooperate and sit down with Mueller for an interview knowing that if you tell one lie to Bob Mueller, he will move to file charges?”
I guess telling the truth is out of the question, heh.

A gem from trump's team. They also consider questioning the president about possible obstruction of justice to be legally inappropriate. Ha.

Trump is a world class liar and bullshitter... he doesn't want to be interviewed, so he'll hide behind his lawyers. Mueller won't be making any noise 60 days out from the midterms per DOJ policy. I think the longer this goes on without Americans being indicted for charges related to conspiracy, the worse it is for Mueller, so he may not want a dragged out legal battle over subpoenaing Trump.

The emails, reviewed by the Washington Examiner, largely pertain to Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, and appear to indicate that Steele was lobbying Ohr, then the fourth-ranking official at the DOJ, to help improve the billionaire aluminum magnate’s visa status.

Deripaska, who was barred from traveling to the U.S. in 2006 due to alleged ties to organized crime, is connected to Vladimir Putin and owns the massive Russian aluminum company Rusal.

“I heard from Adam WALDMAN [a Deripaska lawyer/lobbyist] yesterday that OD is applying for another official US visa ice [sic] APEC business at the end of February,” Steele wrote in a Jan. 12, 2016, email to Ohr, referring to Adam Waldman, an American lobbyist Deripaska hired to improve his diplomatic status.

In a subsequent email, Steele informs Ohr that Deripaska received a visa to travel to the U.S. and asks that Ohr “monitor” the situation should any “complications arise.”

“As far as I’m concerned, this is good news all round although as before, it would be helpful if you could monitor it and let me know if any complications arise,” Steele wrote of Deripaska’s prospective visa on February 8, 2016.

Later that month, Steele suggested that Deripaska might prove a valuable asset to the U.S. government because his reporting suggested Deripaska was not a Kremlin “tool.”

“We reckon therefore that the forthcoming [Deripaska] contact represents a good opportunity for the [U.S. Government],” said Steele.

This is a strange story.

Apparently it was already known one of Orbis's clients was Deripaska... hard to remember every single piece of information for this Russiagate shit. Still interesting he was communicating with Bruce Ohr about that though.

This is absolutely fascinating to me:

The NY Times Nick Confessore made this connection earlier this morning with the Morning Joe crew.

Confessore said, “I’m just always amazed what the mayor’s team will say on the record. What he said in that interview is that the president’s story, if told to Mueller, would put him into perjury."

"So, what he’s saying is the president’s story is wrong. It’s a lie. He just admitted it on national TV because if the president’s version of why he fired Comey is true, it is not a perjury trap, which just astonishes me. We have kind of blown right past the fact of what he admitted just there,” Nick said
