Anyone that is actually a qualified electrician could be earning great money if they applied themselves; Or went were that skill is properly payed.

An electricians wage is at least twice what is considered a living wage in the UK; because our generation thought everyone ought to get a degree in hamster psychology and less people went into skilled trades.

West is not always bad, and East is not always bad. Besides, politics have nothing to do with "bad or good". Big countries have interests, and means, there is a very pragmatic element to their existences/decisions.
