Ukraine is at war

Russia says they aren't at war, but Russians are often lying, dont trust anything they say.

NATO is not at war, we are barely keeping up trade with Ukraine, sending them ammo and weapons if they order it, and providing humanitarian help.
Ukraine is a candidate to NATO, candidate to EU, they are friendly nation to ours, so its normal to trade between friends, and provide humanitarian help in case people need it.
Of course we keep our fingers crossed for Ukraine, but keeping your fingers crossed is not really fighting war.

Not a single NATO soldier fights in Ukraine.

There are multiple tv channels here in Poland. Some of them are right wing, Trump style, and are not to be really 100% trusted.
But the leftist ones are generally fine.

Countries aren't sending their best tanks, because all countries need to stay ready just in case Russia decides to declare war to NATO. Not many countries have excess tanks. NATO reduced its armies after the cold war ended.
And Ukraine war reminded countries that we live in dangerous times, and we need to rebuild our armies. Sadly.

When I open my refrigerator, I eat products that have shortest date.
Same goes for tanks, everybody prefers to use 30year old tanks in war, rather than risk brand new ones.

Also while the countries support Ukraine, they also need to please their own voters, they can't just go "all in" to help Ukraine and forget about their own citizens.

A whole bunch of volunteers from a whole bunch of countries are fighting in Ukraine including a whole bunch of Poles. And a whole bunch have come back in coffins

A nation is like a big family.
Those who earn money, they pay big taxes, those who get ill or old or whatever problem: they get help from their country.
There is a police, an army, fire brigades and ambulances to help you. Everybody gets a chance for education in a country.
People sign anthem together.
So it's generally a positive thing to be a patriot, to be a nationalist.

People can volunteer anything anywhere. They can go abroad.
They need to keep it secret though, as its illegal for polish citizens to join a foreign army.
If a polish government finds out about it, they can be sentenced to jail when they come back.



In a Poland there is a political right wing party called "law and justice"
They rule for 8 years, and are widely known in the world as being the ones who break the law and who are injust.
Totally opposite the name.
Also lie a lot.
Its like a total joke to me.
Although I kind of must say they behaved more or less correctly when the war started.
