I think that the 13% of the world's population or countries that send arms, more than half of them are being held "hostage" , I am not sure if that is too harsh of a word to use, but being held hostage by the United States politicians due to influence and interference. And there are those that are American client states.
I think they wouldn't have sent if they have a choice. But they don't, as much as these are sovereign nations who are hoping to have their own foreign policies and how they treat this war or any other issues, they are being pressured and at times behind closed doors threaten to make and follow such decisions.

Hostage is probably a poor choice to frame them, more like reluctant participants. There are a lot of countries IMO that reluctantly answer the call. There are a number of countries that realize that the war going on (by providing Ukraine with more weapons) is not in their best interest but they do anyways due to them being part of centralized entities like NATO/EU which pressure. Germany was one early on, they caved. But there are other 'reluctant' actors I noticed. France, Italy, Austria, Greece to name off the top of my head. Some in Balkans as well. Neither Romania or Bulgaria or most former Yugoslavian states are eager about this war.

Don't feel too sorry for them. The West is kept afloat not by it's ingenuity or work ethic, but by 10 trillion dollars a year flowing from the countries they rob in the GS. Aside from the communist left in the West, there is little in the way of anti-imperialism going on. They may have some bickering about supporting Ukraine, but none of them want to turn off the blood funnel they have planted in Africa, Asia and LatAm.

Agree on the reluctant participants , that will be a much better word to use. But one country I know that is being held " hostage " and I am sure about that is Japan.

NATO has been expanding for decades as you know

We've been over this point countless times: it was not the United States which begged the Eastern European countries to join NATO, it were these Eastern Europeans who were chomping at the bit to join NATO at the first opportunity because that's the only true protection against Russian revanchism. The Eastern Europeans always knew that the day would come when Russia is reinvigorated and is coming to restore its former empire. They decided, out of their own volition, that they would rather be America's bitch than ever having to live under Russian rule again.

Make of that what you will.

To be fair, there is truth to that bold statement and I can understand it completely.

As for the Russia restoring it's former empire that is a little far fetched at the moment at least in our era.
And I also agree as to why they don't want to live under " Russia Rule " .

That being said those countries bordering Russia and the West ( EU ), as difficult as it is to stomach they should understand there are drawbacks having an immovable nuclear powered neighbour.

Just as a matter of interest, if the US, or a western government, accuses China of providing arms to Russia, say a smoking gun, what action should be taken, in your opinion, against China ? just throwing this out there.
