the fact that we're only talking about positive cases and not the death cases is what makes this thing the biggest of all jokes.
if it was even half as dangerous as it was being said, there would be shittons of work places opened around the globe now due to all the dead people on the streets, as they told us from china in early 2020
almost every single country in the world has less overall mortality in 2019/2020 than in any year of a whole decade prior to those years.
yeah we're expecting a baby in september too, which is why I'm extra concerned about this thing cos I don't want her or a baby to get jabbed, at all.
i sympathize with the idea that death cases were overblown and politicians seized upon the situation to take a modicum of control thats not in line with the mortality of the virus, but will admit that mitigating practices instituted, while extreme, also tended to keep that body count lower than it could have been.
how many thousands were saved by masks, lockdowns, etc. I have no clue, maybe we never will. how much of the control will be ceded back, i hope most.
excess death numbers seem to be the only reliable metric, even if their woefully inadequate for making a complete case. from the onset my worry has been the elderly and morbidly obese. i lost a grand parent to Covid and an obese coworker. so i feel justified in these fears, even if i can moderate them somewhat with the idea that media/politicians were dishonest.
all the best on the upcoming baby, get your sleep in now. get your nursery done now. do anything u want to do now NOW.
