This notion that Russia has a divine right to control Ukraine, whether through coercive or forceful means, is totally invalid; The phrase spheres of influence is a synonym for imperialism. There is a rules based system about defined international borders that has existed since WW2 and Putin is seeking to break it.

If you support appeasing what Putin is doing now, then by default you support returning to a pre WW2 scenario of imperial landgrabs.

If i was China, I would start supplying Russia massively, and quite soon. The wait and see game, will not work out, start hitting back while US got its hands tied.

I´ve changed my view, until recently I thought waiting it out was better. But the odds/stakes of the game in UKr has gone 10x in the last months.

you still haven't learned that it wasn't NATO asking ukraine to join, but ukraine seeking protection by NATO, huh? just like so many former eastern bloc nations before it, ukraine wanted to align with the west, realising that freedom and prosperity are better than economic destitution and authoritarianism.

In my honest opinion China cannot win in a direct war with the United States, but the US will really suffer after their victory.
Taiwan is going to be very difficult, unless the US send tons of weapon now and stock it up for the next five years and send in personnel to train the Taiwanese military and build them up for the next 5 to 8 years , Taiwan is basically a sitting duck.

The Ukrainians are a 100 times tougher as compared to the Taiwanese who have gotten weak for the past 20 years. They even watered down their conscription to a 4 month service. They only recently increase it back to 1 year a couple of weeks back.
Whereas, we Singaporeans still have to serve 2 years. I did military for 2.5 years.

The influx of Japanese anime and " cutie " culture have weaken the Taiwanese alot. The only tough and fierce Taiwanese are the triads, which is basically 60 to 70% Pro China government.
