Everybody here in Minneapolis is currently planning on how to leave the city. It's so bad. Minneapolis could very well become the next Detroit, as homeowners and businesses leave.

Most people just want to feel safe and want to do their own thing.

I could see Minnesota swinging Red this year.

Even the Democrats don't agree with Minneapolis City Council's proposal in regards to the police.

It wasn't just the police that moved out, it was the media. Even the local journalists aren't covering the crime wave with any diligence. George Floyd went national, Minneapolis left the public eye and this is what's happened since

I was reading through the Minneapolis Crime watch the other day. Just an insane amount of crimes and shootings. Sad stuff. But when I saw the bolded line, I couldn't help but laugh. I feel bad because a real person had to endure getting robbed, but it's so stereotypical. Lol.

sounds like 1 dead in the 4+ shootings (several injured) and 1 dead in the triple stabbing on a metro bus, for 2 homicides today before it even gets dark outside
I have to stress, the twin cities are about 1/4 the population of Chicago, and when you look at just the black/somali population, chicago is 32% block, twin cities are ~20% black/somali, so we're talking about 6.5x the black population in chicago as twin cities. So when chicago sets the standard for rampant crime at 100 shootings / 14 dead over a weekend, that's like ~15 shootings / 2 dead in the twin cities per capita. And we're averaging higher than that the past few days, looking more at ~30 shootings / 2-4 dead

We've had a few flare-ups in the past like last summer but never has it been remotely like this. There was a big furor over that video of a mob of black guys bashing a white guy in front of the stadium and the shooting at the end of the state fair last year, black/somali youths overrunning both that and valley fair / screamtown. The result was the event getting shut down for 'racism' when they instructed their staff to be vigilant for the mobs of somali youths, city yanked their police and operating license. Those were all treated as big incidents that got lots of media coverage. You get the isolated murder and shooting here and there, it gets coverage, but its treated as normal.
But this past week we've been getting incidents on par with all of that every few hours on average, sometimes flareups with shootings and carjackings and mob attacks every few minutes. A mob of black people attack an old white guy and its just a single blurb on a long list in the days roundup

North Minneapolis is known for having a high violent crime rate, even mid day. This isn't 'new', except that it's happening in other parts of the city. Even last year, a mob of 20 was making headlines doing day gang beat and rob on random victims.

In contrast East St. Paul was a lot of petty crime, drugs, domestic shit, traffic violations. I found this out when house hunting cities 5 years back, looking over the zillow/trulia crime maps. North Minneapolis crime map and listing was like a third world shit show.
