i have no qualms about not appearing as a centrist to the "i didn't vote for trump but support and defend everything he says" brigade

Same, man. I look forward to this on at least a weekly basis. We are living in a fascinating political time period right now.

Americans frequently talk about the 60s as being a tumultuous time in American culture and politics. I think the 2010s will be discussed in a similar light someday.

Rest assured there’s gonna be a book, Best of Trump (Tweets)

Imma get the special edition

He is correct that he could shoot someone in broad daylight and his supporters wouldn’t bat an eye, people like to be lead. The knee jerk tweets have become increasingly entertaining with each day of his presidency, I hope it doesn’t stop :)

A part of me also really enjoys his tweets. He's blatantly trolling in some of the tweets that people get triggered by. He's delivered some good beatdowns.

But I also recognize that the part of me that enjoys his tweets is probably a bad part of myself. Demagogues are appealing for a reason. They appeal to some of our deeper desires, ignorance, and internal prejudices.

I also remember he is the President of the United States. I think he's a disgrace to the office of the President and a national embarrassment. I hope our next President, whether it's Mike Pence or whoever, restores some of the presidential and democratic norms that Trump has abandoned.

But in the moment? Yeah, I think it's funny as hell when he calls Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas, rags on Kim Jun Un for being a fat and short rocketman, and slams Richard Blumenthal for not actually serving in Vietnam.
