I'm skeptical it will amount to anything, because I don't think anyone in the West is viewed as credible by Russia. Western leaders and Ukrainian leaders have all come out and said that all their prior negotiations and commitments aimed at preventing this war were made in bad faith. So who is there to make an agreement with?

And I can't imagine China would be willing to put peacekeepers into the area given the ideological beliefs of many on the Ukrainian side. They will not react well to being policed by Chinese people.
