Plain as day. Jesus told the DISCIPLES.... not you...to go and spread the word.
And that's assuming the bible IS the actual word of god. So either way... stop harassing people. God don't like that.
In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul talks about the message of reconciliation all Christians are tasked with sharing:
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20, NIV).
In Acts 8:1-4 the Church gets persecuted and scattered. All except the apostles are scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Saul began to destroy the church. Yet in verse 4 those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
In 2 Timothy 2:2 Paul gives the following instructions: “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others”
In Titus 2:1-5 it clearly tells Titus to prepare others to teach.
In 1 Corinthians 12:27-30 it talks about how we are the "body of Christ" and each one of us is a part of it. Each of us has a part to play.
In Ephesians 4:11-16 it talks about how Christ gave the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip his people for works of service, all for the body of Christ to be built up.
So to answer the question of: Is the Great Commission for me, my Pastor, or the Disciples? The answer is all of the above.
