Really? Because I haven't seen a single person defend Biden. I have seen people point out that what Trump did was incomparably worse, but that is not a defense of Biden. In fact, I've seen TONS of people who made that clarification go on to say that what Biden did was bad.

I would say it's a reflection on how subscription based revenue models contribute to political polarization. The NYT has captured a slice of the media market, and they need to cater to that slice in order to maintain their business. Their direct competition is the Washington Post. You can say similar things about the WSJ, Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.
