i was still scared myself. i was imagining Trump standing there pointing and yelling without a mic on for half the debate.
This was much closer to the 2016 debates with Clinton. they both got some few word pot shots and funky faces in, but they both generally stuck to the rules.
what really surprised me was seeing Trump actually taking notes while Biden was speaking. it bothers me when i see people "not" taking notes during a debate.
yeah i had a feeling it would be like this

I think this might be the biggest story coming out of tonight. Biden is on record admitting that he wants to get rid of the oil industry, and that he wants to grant full amnesty for all illegal aliens.
Coupled with Trump's very adequate and sane performance, this should definitely stop the bottom from falling out any further for Trump or Republicans. In fact, I expect the race to tighten somewhat until election day.
Overall, I would rate tonight as a win for Trump, albeit not by a huge margin. He got his zingers in, and he had to debate against a biased moderator and loaded questions. But he also had several weak moments, particularly on his taxes/Wall Street, and on climate change. Biden was annoying when he pandered like a typical swamp demon, but so was Trump when he deflected and rambled aimlessly on issues where he didnt have good arguments on the substance.
I dont think that this debate will shift a lot of people's opinion, but it should reassure wavering conservatives and cause them to come home to the GOP in the end.
Yeah Trump came off a bit better this time. Guy couldnt act like an unrestricted bully in the sandbox due to the format and presto, he did quite alright. didnt knock anything out of the park but did fine
