I mean politicians visit Kiev, Selensky goes freely to other countries, the actual fighting can't be that intense like portrayed in media. Then you've got Ukrainian spring in a month means a fuck ton of unpassable mud.
The distance from Kiev to the eastern front is about 600km.
The fighting is intense, it has just been more static because of the winter conditions; There are plenty videos posted on the internet that show intensity of the fighting.

I don't think there have been any major offenses since Soledar. Id imagine the winter conditions ramping up while gains were slow going prior has armies being conservative. For those who aren't used to cold, digging into frozen earth is factors harder than warm. Not worth digging new trench lines, also existing would be hardened.
This just my speculation, once winter breaks might be a push before permafrost layer melts and mudd season begin.
Russians apparently launched a large assault on Vuhledar which failed. A much larger offensive is coming soon it would appear.
Can't embed the video, here is the link. There is only destroyed vehicles; It should be noted that we can't verify it ourselves.

Was surprised to see that happening, can only imagine what kinda shit show we would see if a western leader was killed by some random rocket strike while visiting Kiev, assuming the risk of that must be extremely low for them to do so.
I don't find Zelensky leaving the country that crazy, I imagine he could do his job well enough from anywhere in the world, but I was surprised to see him visit Bakhmut.
Were you surprised that Vladimir didn't visit Bakhmut?
