a sitting president? that's a nonsensical label. if a sitting president were impeached for treason they would most certainly be eligible for execution, if the impeachment proceedings pass and treason is proven. but it's nonsensical because Trump wouldn't ever get charged with treason, there's a zero percent chance a paper trail would ever exist for that and whomever is going after him would settle on a lesser charge. but hypothetically IF treason was proven yes i'd expect they go for the maximum punishment.

regardless the investigation began looking for collusion with a foreign government to pervert the American electoral process. whether that could lead to a treason charge who knows, nothing even close has ever happened.
