And that's where I disagree. He'll lose just as many low-motivation voters who say "he's got no chance anymore, I dont need to vote". You're still stuck in a perspective which was correct from 2000 until 2014, but not anymore: that almost all marginal voters are Democrat-leaning while pretty much the entire GOP electorate consists of reliable, high-turnout folks. But since the great Trump voter swap, the GOP base contains a lot of disengaged, low education, low turnout voters; while quite a lot of the reliable college-educated, politically engaged voters have switched to the Democrats. The degree to which low turnout benefits Republicans has been diminished in the era of Trump.
i disagree entirely, Trump's base is a cult of personality, Biden's base is not even for Biden as much as anti-Trump. there were far more people relieved to see a moderate nominated than excited it was Joe. there's far more fervor in the Trump base to save a sinking ship imo. beyond that its about logistics, trump's support is in rural areas where polling places are not busy. my polling place always takes my vote in under 5 minutes, 1 minute check in, no line, few minutes to fill out my ballot, no line at the ballot machine. in and out. putting them together you have an enthusiastic rural high voting base wanting to save trump and a lower turnout urban base not excited about voting who are also addicted to outrage and will cry if trump wins but smile at the thought of 4 more years of easy twitter posts. trumps base will by contrast truly be heartbroken if he loses.
we will see, we're close enough now to voting day that im going to refrain from hammering the "Trump will win again" drums, ive done it enough. its mostly based on my perception given where i am at anyways, i just think u can tell a lot about the body by just listening to the heart.
