Democrat O'Rourke unveils "community-based" immigration plan

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke proposed a new immigration plan on Wednesday that will allow churches and local communities to sponsor immigrants to the United States in becoming American citizens.

In other words... no oversight. Just a new flavor of catch and release. :/

in the article, it also says that he wants amnesty for all 11+ million undocumented immigrants in the country, and a "quick" pathway to citizenship for all dreamers. (which would mean that they can start voting and sponsoring their parents, siblings, cousins, you name it.)
so this is how Beto wants to turn Texas blue... ^_^

also, what would prevent the immigrants sponsored by churches and local communities under his plan from moving to other cities who didnt want them and collect welfare checks and occupy housing space there?

at the end of the day, Beto is just another privileged lefty completely out of touch with reality who is now flailing around in a desperate attempt to rescue his failing campaign.
one good thing though: now that this proposal is out there, Beto doesnt even have to think about running for that Texas senate seat against John Cornyn in 2020.

In Ohio, Republicans leaving nothing to chance in Trump re-election bid

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-ohio/in-ohio-republicans-leaving-nothing-to-chance-in-trump-re-election-bid-idUSKCN1T7164

MARION, Ohio (Reuters) - Dozens of Republican activists, county chairs and volunteers gathered at Franklin University in Columbus last month for the state’s first-ever “Trump Victory Communication College.”

Soon after, Sean Spicer, President Donald Trump’s former White House spokesman, swept through the state for a series of party events. A Trump Victory regional political director has already been announced. So, too, has a Republican National Committee field director for the state.

And then there is Trump himself, who held two events in Ohio in March.

No Republican has ever won the White House without Ohio, and even as some Democrats question whether the state remains a competitive battleground after recent elections, the unusually early and intense efforts to secure Ohio for Trump show his party is taking nothing for granted.

The Trump campaign has crafted a re-election strategy aimed at putting Ohio beyond Democrats’ reach early so the president can concentrate resources on the tougher contests in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, according to interviews with the campaign, party officials and political analysts.
