Give an inch take a mile. This is the tank thing was a big deal. It's not that they are a game changer on the battle field because they are absolutely not but it shows that Germany can be pressured into giving more eventually.

Ukraine says it will now push for Western fourth-generation fighter jets such as the American F-16 after securing dozens of high-end battle tanks from NATO allies.

Ukraine won a huge boost for its troops as the United States and Germany announced plans to provide heavy tanks for Kyiv on Wednesday.

Not a chance

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said there was no chance of fighter jets being sent to Ukraine.

“I made it clear very early on that we are not talking about combat aircraft, and I am doing the same here,” he said in the Bundestag.

Scholz added, “We will not send ground troops under any circumstances. I have said there will be no direct involvement of NATO soldiers in the Ukraine war. That has not been the case so far and that will not be the case in the future. And everyone can rely on that.”

Yes, seems they are asking really alot, and now the bombing capability.
Next step Ukraine will ask for nuclear capable submarine with SBLM nuke heads.

I see alot of posts that russians just increased their attack today.

about tanks.

Confirmed:
🇬🇧14 Challenger 2
🇵🇱14 Leopard 2A4
🇩🇪14 Leopard 2A6

Full confirmation awaited:
🇵🇹4 Leopard 2A6
🇪🇸20-53 Leopard 2A4
🇺🇸30 Abrams M1
8 Leopard 2A4
🇫🇮14 Leopard 2A4/6

Discussion:
🇳🇱18 Leopard 2A6
🇩🇰6 Leopard 2A5/7

I am not expert enough to know if tanks are really required or not, but it is clear IMHO that if it wasn't the West would have never give them considering the cost.

Maybe this ?

how news is reported in my country:

"US joins Germany in sending battle tanks to Ukraine "

when in fact germany only moved after america moved.

sad.

i know someone likes quotes so here:

US President Joe Biden, who has spoken with key European allies about supporting Kyiv's fight, was poised to deliver an address from the White House on the US tank deliveries.

"The United States will send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, which is the equivalent of one Ukrainian tank battalion," a senior administration official told journalists of the move - a significant reversal after US defense officials repeatedly described the Abrams as ill-suited for the task at hand.

"Tanks are complex systems that require a significant amount of training and maintenance," the official said, and the United States "will begin now to work to establish a comprehensive training programme."

Initially Abrams were a NoNo, because of maintenance cost. Now it's "ok" but on the paper the delay is up to 1 year....

Y right now Russia is maybe doing a major attack (also air sirens in Kyiv ?) because it can 1/ get in the mud in spring 2/ get rekt in summer

I means this is what they should do, to attack massively right now, but CAN they ? Are their men trained and equipped ? ... And motivated ...
