I think penguin's point is that you shouldn't focus on people's spelling. You should focus on the message they are trying to send, cause that's the only important thing. Being a grammar nazi, catching people's spelling errors...etc is stupid and it wastes everybody's time.

When you grow up, you'll realize that the way you convey a message is almost as important as the message itself. If darwin wrote "The descent of man" on discarded scraps of toilet paper, and misspelled every third word, no one would have read it and dismissed it as lunatic ravings. You'll eventually learn, if you format your message like the ravings of a lunatic, people will dismiss them as the ravings of a lunatic.

Here some useful tips for when you post:

Consider the feeling of others when posting about “delicate” subjects
Repeating yourself or flaming doesn’t enhance your argument or point
Don’t pick on people for mistakes in spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.. We don’t need “Grammar Police”. Just let it be
Try not to put others down. It doesn’t build you up, and it only leaves a sour taste in everyone’s mouth. Not everyone is well educated, good at self-expression, or up-to-date on recent events. Again, let it be, or at least try to help someone out by trying to put the point another way
