It will be interesting to compare claims made by Russia vs the western media at the end of all this, considering the conflict is dependent on western support this is as much an information war as it is a conventional one, and Ukraine seems to have a massive advantage in that department.

Russian people could occupy it at some point. In waiting this glorious moment the only solution is to weaken this "thing" to the ground.
They will still have their nuclear arsenal, and worse: they could end up selling a part of it.

Probably, but I think there would be some incentive for it if Russia ends up on the losing side of this conflict somehow. Losing = being completely pushed out of Ukraine and losing access to black sea + unable to stop western expansion and militarization of Ukraine.

At that point Russias future will be looking quite bleak and their economy would be in ruins I would think. Nalvany starts looking like a good option because his election would mean Russia could get back into trade deals with Europe and probably face less punitive measures for the invasion.
