About time.

Honestly i don't really know why some of the long shot candidates ever really try. Every cycle you have the Steyers or the Klobs that everyone and their mom knows they won't make it.

At this point it should just be Bloomberg-Sanders-Biden. Bloomberg should drop if he gets smoked Tuesday and fall in line behind Biden.

About time indeed, but I have to disagree with the rest of this post. Candidates with a very strong pedigree like Kamala Harris, Corey Booker or Kirsten Gillibrand (lol anyone remember her?) bombed completely while a small-town mayor like Buttigieg was far exceeding expectations.
On top of that, Klobuchar and Buttigieg still had the hope of becoming the consensus choice of the "moderate lane" and the party establishment should Biden crumble. It was only after SC that it became clear Biden would not fade away and instead be the strongest representative of this camp within the party. So imho it makes sense for them to only drop out now when Biden has rebounded. Klobuchar should have quit right after SC though.

the next debate, interested to see how this cast gets along. Warren seems only in it to attack Bloomberg on behalf of Bernie. and im not sure what bloomberg's path even looks like unless he wins a few of the next primaries.
.

I think Warren is mostly staying in this race because she still hopes that camp Biden/the moderates and establishment and camp Bernie/the progressives and insurgents will fight to a draw in the delegate race, and that she could emerge as the compromise candidate. This is of course delusional since the superdelegates would rally behind Biden in the second round of voting...

Bloomberg... I guess he wants to stay in to have a justification for attacking Bernie. Cockblocking both Bernie and Trump imho are his main objectives in all of this. He can surely live with a president Biden. At this point, it might also have to do with vanity and him being a 78 year old bored billionaire with too much money to waste.

Klobuchar dropping out right before Super Tuesday and then insta-endorsing Biden all but confirms that the DNC has decided to coalesce around Biden. I'm getting some serious 2016 vibes about all this over the past 2 days. Democratic division will likely continue this election cycle, and it might even be worse if there is a contested convention.

Prediction: Sanders ends up with the most delegates but not a majority. It's a contested convention, the DNC picks Biden, and a Democratic bloodbath ensues. Trump beats Biden handily in the 2020 election, further radicalizing the left. AOC takes over as the face and leader of the party in the messy afermath and later becomes the DNC nominee in the 2024 election.

Aren't they getting rid of her district? She might be working at a bar again Jan 2023

As for the DNC, no one is forcing voters to do their bidding. If Biden gets the most votes, that's that. If he doesn't, it really depends on who has a plurality and what sort of deal making goes on behind the scenes. Given that Bernie is a worse deal maker than Trump, I think it'd be difficult for him to be the nominee. But hey, that's what happens when you make a career shitting on the people you need. You reap what you sow.

Yup, pretty much this.

I wouldnt call it "stealing the nomination from Bernie", however, if Bernie heads into the convention with say 42% of delegates, Biden has 38%, Bloomberg has 9% and Warren/Buttigieg/Klobuchar have the remaining 11%. In this scenario, it would be fairly clear that a moderate candidate has more votes than a progressive one, and that more voters would prefer Biden than Bernie if these two had been the only options all along.

Lol, if Beto "hell yes we're gonna take your guns" O'Rourke really wants to curry favor with the DNC, he should keep hiding under a rock until after election day.

We all know Sanders will get fucked somehow by the time this is all said and done and the Bernie bros are going to be screeching much louder than 2016.

I just don't really understand the Democrat calculus here. They've really painted them self in a corner with a lose-lose situation. Either you try to be fair here and Bernie most likely gets the nod or you try to 'sway' the outcome for the 'best' candidate who has a chance against Trump and you will really embitter the far left. You really think the commies are going to somehow forgive and forget twice in a row just because Bernie tells them to vote for the greater good? LOL

Trump is about to coast to a win here when the commie left tells the mainstream D's fuck you, and it's going to be great

And then you can rub it in their faces with RBG dies and ACB takes her place. Trump will do things that I support given that I'm conservative on some issues so I say go for it. If they don't vote blue then they deserve EVERYTHING that is coming. Crippling student loan debt, worse healthcare, etc.

I really wonder if/how they will make RBG a talking point during the general campaign. Given her age and health situation, it's crystal clear that she wont survive for another almost 5 years, but bringing this point up as an argument why everyone must vote blue... a public campaign just cant do that, it's really morbid and tasteless.

You can definitely bring up SCOTUS. Just mention how every president has gotten to appoint at least one since Carter. But yea, a Democratic president will still yield a 5-4 conservative majority. A Republican one might yield a 7-2.
