May have to add a major point on this: On one side it's easy to go, watch, and even freely discuss about the news from Russia.
But if you are in Russia and try to bypass then access the websites you can go directly in prison even before talking about anything.

In Ukraine ? They are fighting for their lives, as a quick reminder Russians are bombing their power & water plants.... What you think ? That they will read putin's controlled news and enjoy to get looted, raped, and killed ?

Facebook and Instagram are blocked, Twitter too. Most of the Western MSM are blocked, BBC for example. All the local independent (read West-oriented) media are blocked too. And yes, you can go to jail if you continuously violate a new law on discrediting the Army. Many (if not the most) young people use VPN (some VPN are blocked) to bypass restrictions. Elderly people and villagers are brainwashed by Rossiya24 and other propaganda mouthpieces.

Do you have any way to flee ? Or maybe you can't because you have old family to take care of ?

Why should I flee? The whole situation reminds me of China. Imagine they all flee.

Ah I see, thanks for the info!
Were those sites and news organizations blocked before the invasion? And have you heard of many people being arrested for discrediting the army?

Do you get annoyed seeing all of us foreigners getting things wrong about Russia and Ukraine? :P
