As a liberal with classical leanings, who prefers building coalitions and compromising with individuals of different beliefs and values, and does not like majoritarian tendencies, who is my candidate?

Seriously, is Amy K the one for me? I would support Biden because of down river elections and helping the Dems stay competitive in the House, Senate, State Houses, and governors races, but he is just so old. Excellence is right; too bad the good son died.

So
....

Amy K? I heard she treats her subordinates poorly, particularly in underutilizing individuals. Major pet peeve of mine. I don't know much about Mayor Pete except my PaRD friends say he is a DNC plant.

Lmao

You can't take it with you.

Reminds me of the play Caligula by Albert Camus. It is a spin, historical fiction, where the titles emperor is born into obscene wealth, privilege, and power, and comes to the Camusian conclusion that reality is absurd, and just sees how far he can go to push the envelope and see how far everyone will play along with him. He makes a horse a Roman consul, just violates the shit out of everybody's rights, and by the end he is so exasperated that he cannot find a limitation to the absurdity he plots his own assassination. The play ends with him dying to the Praetorian Guard of i remember right. How does this relate to Steyer? A billionaire trying to prove how cool he is at a political rally for himself with a hired black guy hip hop hype man and dancing with a room full of strangers who you aren't even allowed to have his phone number is just as absurd.

Steyer says he has “zero regrets” about spending over a quarter of a billion on his failied primary campaign - open secrets has him self-financing to the tune of $267.1MM

all to win zero delegates, his top performance being a distant 3rd in South Carolina

in contrast President Trump self-financed ~$66.1MM (per open secrets) throughout the entire 2016 election cycle and won the primary and the general election in massive landslides

e: at least it was his own money he spent. clowns like Harris/Booker/Robert Francis O’Rourke are similar to Jeb! in that they wasted millions upon millions of other people’s money

Well, Mayor Pete served as a safeguard in case Biden crumbles. Biden didnt, he rebounded in impressive fashion, so Buttigieg was no longer needed, and his campaign had no more chance of going anywhere.
Since he's young and still having very high ambitions, he probably didnt want to piss off the DNC or attach too much "losing" to his name/brand by staying in the race any longer.
He might even speculate on a cabinet position in Biden's administration. Either way, we definitely havent heard the last of him.

This actually makes me nervous. Where do Pete's voters go? They still represent 10% of the electorate and I imagine that only some go to Biden.

I dont think there was THAT much overlap between Buttigieg and Sanders voters. I would assume that Pete's votes will mostly go to Biden and Warren. This might actually be the x-factor that gets Warren over the 15% threshold in a couple of Super Tuesday states.
Honestly, going by this logic, I think it would make a ton of sense for Klobuchar to drop out too.

Trump did say Alfred E. Neuman cannot be President of the United States

i’d wager a small bet he was offered a cabinet position by someone like Biden to drop out now. Super Tuesday polling is converging pretty close

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/election-update-south-carolina-and-a-bunch-of-new-polls-are-showing-a-close-super-tuesday-race/

an extra 5-6 points that default to Biden now (hypothetically) makes a hyuuuge difference
