New Vice news video on Bakhmut, actually gives a pretty unbiased view of things on the ground there. They interview a bunch of Ukrainians living through the war, some of the troops fighting, but mostly civilians.

Whatever your view of the war you gotta admit the Ukrainians are a tough bunch of people. Hopefully there is some sort of deal before the winter gets too brutal.

From my Taiwan news source, I think the President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier had a chat with Xi. They brought up this particular topic.
Mededev also met up with Xi, I heard some conversations about the ceasefire. But not sure how it will turn out.

At best ceasefire, I don't think the war will stop per say. Hopefully a long ceasefire.

If there is going to be a ceasefire the next will be Taiwan / China or Serbia Kosovo.
I think Serbia conflict might start first. The Taiwan drama will happen around 2030. The US need to build Taiwan up before it happens.

The question is why do you even care about d2jsp and this exact topic, not to mention the date of registration matches the period when our "beloved" pro-ukrainian troll Lvivz was gone. You are not Russian, may be a Russian speaker from Ukraine trying to fake a real Russian and make everyone think they are evil commie bastards.

Probably he is a UK nazi dolphin troll-bot double agent, sent by NATO to place LGBTQ nuclear enemas in every Russians bumhole.

That's a good sign, I feel like Russia is going to be very picky about terms and guarantees after Merkel admitted that stuff about the minsc agreements though

How is Taiwan news approaching the war? I assume they are more western aligned but are they critical of the US involvement in Ukraine at all?

Missed your edit, but yeah I agree, Serbia seems like bad news waiting to happen

Taiwan will have to wait.

China is not ready
Taiwan is not ready
and USA is not ready.

Give them about 8 years or so, it will look similar to Ukraine.

The Taiwanese Government just increased the National service ( Conscription ) serving time from 4 months to 1 year.
The compulsory military service have been shortened to 4 months in 2013.
Please note... Taiwanese boys are not Ukraine boys. The Ukrainians are tough as hell.
The Taiwanese are way more polite and gentle in that sense because they have had a very very decent life as compared to the Ukrainians which are extremely tough.

No they are not, they are apolitical for a number of reasons.
But the current supporters of the current DPP government who is in power are very much on the Ukrainian side. Some Taiwanese ex military went over to Ukraine to fight. They got a shock of their lives in a real war.

Doesn't really make sense, there is nothing to gain for a ceasefire atm?

Seems strange to freeze the conflict with current Donetsk situation, don't see how the ceasefire would last.

Not sure mate, I just heard from the Taiwanese news. They are just guessing at the moment, So I made a passing comment from what I heard. I am still getting updated since this was their report 5 hours back.

I have not read much on the region but I do remember hearing that the main opposition party in Taiwan was actually in favor of uniting with China, is that true?

I feel like the US and China both have reasons to want to keep Taiwan intact so hopefully if it does happen, it isn't as crazy as Ukraine.

I watched a good interview with a British soldier who volunteered in Ukraine and he said something similar about western soldiers he served with, he said a lot of them couldn't deal with the constant shelling happening there, they had combat experience but only in places like Iraq where if they were being shelled they could just call in an airstrike.

Actually no..
The opposition party in a way is similar to the current party.

Opposition is KMT and the Current party is DPP.

The KMT wants to keep the status quo. The DPP are outwardly showing they want independence but they don't exactly want war.
Both are not in favour of reuniting , although the KMT is looking towards a more non confrontational relationship with China.

I think we might be reaching a point where the US will use the Taiwan card sooner than later. But we will see.

If you want I can explain China and Taiwan in a very American sense.

And in regards to their military capability I can explain it in a very layman Rock Band kind of manner.
