I see the rationale behind this argument, but I dont think it's convincing. Bloomberg is pretty big on climate change, gun control and on regulating personal behavior ("soda ban"). These things should not go down well at all in Texas, even if Bloomberg is a better fit for TX on issues like taxes or economic policy than Bernie.

Imho, the strongest Democratic candidates for states like Texas are Biden and perhaps Buttigieg (depending on how much of an issue his sexual orientation is for Texans, which I cant really tell).

I dont argue that Bloomberg would be a better candidate for Texas than Bernie. I do, however, argue against the notion that he would be a good candiate for Texas in absolute terms.



Btw: the oil industry is still really big in Texas, so bold action on climate change would most definitely hurt a lot of Texans' pocketbooks. Therefore, climate change is not just a peripheral wedge issue for Texas.
