100%, also the reason why many non-western countries aren't as deluded is because their governments/institutions are overtly corrupt, have history of being unstable or are conflict prone. This all disillusions the population of the people in charge. There is a strong inherent sense of cynicism.

This also explains why Chinese are the most susceptible when it comes to media trust, because they went on a meteoric rise from a 100 year period of humiliation to being a literal world-leader. The approval rating of cpc is like 95% (harvard study).

The Ukrainians in power right now have no interest for the war to end for two reasons really. The country is on life support from the west. Tens of billions are flowing into Ukraine, that type of money really has never been seen before in Ukraine and while most people are suffering there's a select number of people there that are in power that are getting filthy rich. Ukraine is not unique in it's corruption, much of eastern Europe, particularly ex-soviet states are like this.

Second reason is, as soon as the war stops foreign money will stop and the people in power will be on the hook for what's next. Country in shambles, little to no economic productivity, few job prospects, domestic discontent and massive issues of poverty. Realistically people would turn on the politicians for the situation. At that point you won't be able to externalize the fault to Russia, because people will blame internal forces for the bleak situation.

So really there's no way out and they (the ukrainian politicians) will continue to want war as long as it means more western money.

What the fuck is wrong here ? Not everyone has the same standards that you or Putin. MORAL STILL EXISTS

The moral thing to do is to compromise and seek peace so normal people don't suffer. Not pledge tens of billions of dollars in weapons month after month. You argue for war and think it's moral. Clown world logic.
