I stopped in to see if anything new had been posted, and what to my wondering eyes did appear, but more "lefty clown show" and some... liberal tears :-)

It's pretty easy to tell where this forum leans ideologically by reading this thread. There's been significant, compelling video released by the committee in recent days, and none of it gets posted here. I refuse to be someone who informs PaRD about things they should already know about, but I'll post some links here of videos:

Does Pelosi always keep camera crew ready to capture how she responds to crisis? Or was Jan 6th a special day for her. Very odd all the close ups of her on film pumping her rehtoric and used for montages now. If SHTF, I'd think being close up on cameras would be inappropriate... Seems odd

If this video evidence is oh-so-compelling, why is it only being released now and not 6 or 10 months ago? Could it be that the committee held back this footage (as well as its ultimate trump card of subpoenaing Trump) until shortly before the midterms?

You seem frustrated that the median swing voter doesn't prioritize Jan 6 as an issue to the degree you would deem appropriate. Maybe that's because the Jan 6 committee has, since the day of its inception, behaved like a kangaroo court and carefully designed all of its actions and messaging to maximize partisan gain! :santa:

TFG and Eastman losing to the crime-fraud exception to a privilege claim. (Document Cloud link to the judge's ruling in the first post of this thread).

They've presented damning evidence this entire time if you've been paying attention (I know you haven't). You would be saying the same no matter what the order of release was.

They have presented damning evidence for Trump's cycnical, conscious effort to undermine trust in the democratic process for the selfish goal of clinging to power (either the presidency or at least within the GOP). They concluded that Trump himself, and by extension those who buy into his "big lie", are a threat to democracy.

Too bad they completely nullified their messaging about the dangers of the crazy, election-deyning Trump loyalists by spending millions of dollars propping these exact people up in countless GOP primaries, just so that their own candidates have a marginally higher likelihood of winning the general. One of them will probably become the next governor of Arizona.

They've haven't. They presented evidence of absolutely nothing that wasn't already publicly visible on January 6th. The dial hasn't budged a single notch since then, we haven't learned anything new. Trump supporters rioted and were let into the capitol, several died in a crowd crush due to the total failure of crowd control, and one of the unarmed rioters was shot and killed by police. Nobody made any attempt to overthrow the government, the most heavily armed nutwings in the country showed up unarmed and spent their time trespassing in the capitol taking selfies and spouting memes. Donald Trump dithered for a short period on whether he should risk alienating his own supporters before putting out several statements telling them to go home in peace. The president then left office as he's supposed to.

If the January 6th committee actually cared about the danger to human life we saw, they would have used their committee as a post mortem on the failures of the capitol police to properly manage a crowd and what could be done in the future to maintain order without resorting to shooting unarmed protesters. They would have vigorously investigated who left the pipebombs in front of both the RNC and DNC offices. But if all they cared about was making a political circus out of it and trying to use their moral high horse to harangue their political rivals, we'd get stunning and brave footage of Nancy Pelosi saying she'd punch out Trump as their final crowning piece of 'bombshell evidence'

The committee releases information in a way that they think will have a greater impact.

Voters don't care much about democracy. One of our two major political parties is essentially an anti-democratic personality cult to a demented, evil man. And that party is going to win the midterms and probably the presidency in 2 years. We're on the road to being a democracy in name only.

That's not true at all. Voters paid attention to Biden's democracy speech, they just thought that he was the one being undemocratic. Demonizing your opponents as fascists comes across as somewhat fascist. Voters pay more attention than you think, when one group exclusively exercises institutional power against another, they take notice. When the President is strong-arming Twitter to ban policy skeptics (Alex Berenson), people correctly read the administration as authoritarian and divisive.

Independents believe 68 to 32 that Biden is scapegoating "MAGA" in order to avoid talking about policy failure. Independents believe 58 to 42 that Biden's claims regarding "MAGA Republicans" is a "gross exaggeration". Voters on the whole are more concerned with the far left (55%) than the MAGA right (45%).
